Safe Haven

After reading the first 3 "Twilight Saga" books in less than 2 weeks, I decided I needed a break from vampires & werewolves for awhile, and picked up the latest from Nicholas Sparks.
I always anxiously await his new books, and "Save Haven" did not disappoint! All I can say to those who haven't read it yet is - you must, and you'll be glad you did!

Team Edward

I may have been the last person alive who hadn't read any of the "Twilight" books, or seen any of the movies. Actually, I still haven't seen any of the movies, but I finally decided to take a break from my usual murder mystery reading to see what all the fuss was about...
I had no idea if I would make it through the first book, but as I write tonight I am close to finishing "Eclipse", the 3rd book in the series. Will the movies be worth the wait as well?

My Thanksgiving realization...

I woke up Thanksgiving morning wishing I didn't have to go to work. However, I quickly realized that was the wrong attitude to have - especially on a day when I should have been thankful to
have a job! So unlike many who took the day off, I went to work - just a little late, because it just wouldn't have seemed like Thanksgiving without a traditional turkey dinner!

Inspired words from Johnny Cash

"Money can't buy back your youth when you're old, a friend when you're lonely, or a love that's grown cold." Not even sure who wrote "A Satisfied Mind", but it is chillingly sung by Johnny Cash on his CD "American VI - Ain't No Grave" - currently playing in my car, over and over and over again!

Lions and Tigers and Bears....

...but no Elephants? Strange! Not a single elephant at the Gladys Porter Zoo here in Brownsville, Texas...
Still, after playing with my "virtual zoo" on Facebook for the past year, it was fun to get out and see some real animals.
Especially the tigers!

Rizzoli & Isles

I haven't had much interest in any new TV shows over the last several years. But when the premiere of "Rizzoli & Isles" was announced, I knew I'd be tuning in.

Hard as it is to believe, this has nothing to do with Angie Harmon, although I will readily admit that she is totally hot, and was one of the reasons I became hooked on "Law & Order". No, I will be watching this show because it is based on two characters I've come to love through the novels of Tess Gerritsen http://www.tessgerritsen.com/ .

She has written 9 novels about Jane Rizzoli & Maura Isles, and I've read every one of them. Now I can't wait to see if the "movie" is as good as the books!
