Starting in 1991, each year at Christmastime, Michael McClean presents "The Forgotten Carols" It is a stage performance which tells the story of Connie Lou, a nurse whose empty life is changed when Uncle John, a new patient she is attending, recounts the story of Christ's birth as told by little known characters in the nativity story. The accounts from the Innkeeper, the Shepherd, and others help the nurse discover what the world has forgotten about Christmas, ultimately encouraging her to open her heart to the joy of this special season.
During our first Christmas together, I read the story of the Forgotten Carols to Samantha, and played the songs, hoping one day I would get the chance to share the show with her live. This dream came true Monday night, and we even got to meet Michael McClean and his wife afterwards. If you have not yer had the opportunity for the "Forgotten Carols" to bless your life, then head on over to The Forgotten Carols and buy your tickets now! Even if you have seen this show before, it is still timeless and yet refreshingnly new. And I do, along with Connie Lou, cry when I take the Christmas Tree down!
